We Can’t Hate Ourselves Into a Version of Ourselves That We Can Love.

Counseling

It's not always food you're truly hungry for. And changing the size, shape or weight of your body is not the same as changing your relationship with your body. In our meetings, we get down to what the obstacles around body and food peace are really about and develop skills to support real change, tame your inner critic, create self-care and pleasure practices to honor the life you're craving.

Your societal BS barometer is going to go way up! We talk about how to feel strong and grounded in a culture that spouts constant mixed messages around body, health and intersectionality. When you learn to be present with yourself with non-judgmental curiosity and how to manage the external white noise- real freedom and magic can happen.  Hint: It's not about the next diet and it's not about willpower. You and your body are good enough to start NOW.

It's ok if you don't know where to start- that's where I come in. Counseling is a collaborative journey and I am ready to get into this with you! And while I'm the guide- you're the real change-maker. Unlike diets, forming a new and peaceful relationship with your body is not about a quick-fix. It takes deliberate action and we will be working to create sustainable, evolving practices that allow you to make informed and empowered choices for your life. Everyones' path and pace is different.

YOU AND I ARE LIKELY A GOOD MATCH IF 1+ OF THESE RESONATES WITH YOU:

THERE IS SO MUCH GOOD GOING ON IN YOUR LIFE. BUT THIS FOOD AND BODY THING...
This is the thing you keep circling back to; the broken record. Seeing that # on the scale, having your jeans feel snug or catching your reflection in a store window can instantly ruin your day. You often think, "I'm a smart woman- why is this still a thing for me?"
Food and body peace is not just for other women. It's possible for you.

YOU ARE ARE USUALLY PLANNING A DIET,  ON A DIET OR "FAILING"A DIET.  AND NONE OF IT IS WORKING.
You know the cycle- You plan meticulously. You’re excited to start. One last hurrah with food before your "new life" starts. The beginning is awesome. Before you know it, you’re craving those “forbidden foods.” Next thing you know - BINGE - you're elbow deep in that bag of cookies, chips, whatever. Then the shame rolls in ("What's wrong with me?") The cycle starts over.
It's not about willpower and it’s NOT YOU who is failing the diets, they're failing you. You can learn to change the cycle.

YOU'RE TIRED OF MISSING OUT ON YOUR OWN LIFE
You view your current body as temporary so you're waiting to lose that 5-100+lbs before dating, buying clothes, going to the beach, fill in a thousand blanks here. You're so over not participating in your life!
Preoccupation with weight loss and body image is what keeps you on the diet- emotional eating- binge hamster wheel. We'll tackle that together. You can live a full, fierce and embodied life- at ANY size.

FOOD IS NOT JUST FOOD
It takes up so much of your brain space. Depending on what you eat you feel "good" or bad" about yourself. You go between feeling calm and out of control. There doesn't seem to be a balance.
Food does not have to have power over you.

YOU ARE SICK OF FEELING CRAZY AROUND FOOD AND YOUR BODY.  YOU'RE READY FOR CHANGE
Diets aren't working. Hating your body isn't working. Constant comparisons aren't working. You're not sure how to get off this rollercoaster but you want OFF! You're ready to show up, to trust yourself, stop caring what others think and truly nourish yourself.
Yes, it's possible!
